a. Power Inverter Charging
: Power inverters are designed with a charging circuit - this power charging circuit is usually designed to provide electric current to the connected battery. so a 12 Volt inverter would be designed to charge a single battery or group of batteries connected in parallel. The battery to be charged is usually a Sealed Maintenance Free (SMF) battery designed to withstand the high current requirement of power inverters.For charging to take place a transformer is used in the circuit to step down or step up the alternating current (AC) voltage from the 220/240V to 12/24/48V/180V/360V or more depending on the design. b. Inverting the stored power:
The inverting circuit is designed to convert the stored energy in the battery to electric power energy. The charges stored in the battery in DC is converted to Alternating Current (AC) and then stepped up to the desired output voltage usually 220/240V in Nigeria. The output of the inverting circuit by default is not pure. Rather we have a modified sinewave output. The modified sinewave output is not suitable for most electrical devices, so the need for a next stage.c. Power Inverter Smoothing:
